In this article we’ll share some healthy White tea shot recipes, How to make white tea shots, white tea shot ingredients, also make a Jameson Green Tea Shot, what’s in a white tea shot recipe and how beneficial it is to the body.
What is a white tea shot?
The White Tea shot is made with vodka, peach schnapps, sour mix, and a splash of lemonade.
The original version is known as a Green Tea shot.
Unlike a White Tea shot, which is made with vodka, a Green Tea shot is made with whiskey, and the original Green Tea shot is made with Jameson Irish Whiskey.
Many other variations of this shooter began to sprout up all over as it gained popularity, and the White Tea shot is just one of them.
Even if we focus solely on the White Tea shot, there are slight variations in the ingredients used, such as using sprite instead of lemonade or simply adding simple syrup. Nothing is set in stone, and what matters most is that the drink tastes good and that everyone enjoys it!
Is there any tea in the White Tea Shot?
Let us finally put this age-old question to rest. Despite the name, there is no tea in any tea shot, not just White Tea.
Any tea shot recipe that contains tea is either not authentic or is meant to be a variation of the original recipe.
To understand why we must return to the origins of the original Green Tea shot. When Jameson created the Green Tea shot, it was named solely for the color. White Tea shot substitutes vodka for whiskey, giving it a pale color and thus the name change.
Other variations include switching the alcohol base to tequila and calling it an Oolong Tea shot.
How To Make A Jameson Green Tea Shot
- Fill a cocktail shaker or glass halfway with ice cubes.
- Each of Jameson Irish Whiskey, Peach Schnapps, and Sour.
- The mix will be 12 ounces or 1 tablespoon (see how many tablespoons in an ounce chart).
- Pour each ingredient into the glass or cocktail shaker, then stir or cover and shake vigorously to chill.
- Pour the drink into a shot glass and top it with lemon-lime soda.
White Tea Shot Ingredients
- Vodka: This is the main alcohol base for the White Tea shot, and it’s what sets it apart from other tea shots. We prefer Absolut Elyx for its clean, well-rounded flavor, but feel free to use and experiment with your favorite vodkas. Use unflavored vodka for the classic White Tea shot recipe because the flavors will come from the other ingredients.
- Peach schnapps: This peach-flavored liqueur adds the fruity sweetness of peach to the shooter while also helping to balance the sour mix and alcohol taste.
- You have a few options for a sour mix here. You can use a store-bought sour mix for convenience, make your own sour mix and adjust the proportions to your liking, or completely replace it with a combination of lemon juice and simple syrup.
- If you want to make your own homemade sour mix or simple syrup, follow the instructions in the frequently asked questions section below. It’s extremely easy and inexpensive!
- Lemonade: A dash of lemonade is added just before serving after the drink has been shaken and strained. You can also substitute Sprite, 7-Up, or pure lemon juice.
When shaking the drink, ice cubes are added to chill it. In the final step, they will be strained out.
White Tea Shot Kitchen Appliances
- Cocktail shaker: To combine and mix all of the ingredients together, we will use a cocktail shaker. Shake well to combine the ingredients, then strain into shot glasses.
- Strainer (if not included in the cocktail shaker): Some cocktail shakers do not come with a strainer, and you will need one to remove the ice. Alternatively, use the cover with a small gap to allow only the liquid to pass through.
- Shot glasses: Shooters go best in shot glasses!

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Do white tea shots have an alcoholic flavor?
This shot recipe still has some alcohol burn, but the peach schnapps, soda, and sour mix keep it from being overly alcoholic.
Is the white tea shot regarded as healthy?
Because it contains alcohol, I wouldn’t consider this shot to be particularly healthy. However, recipes containing actual white tea may provide some health benefits over those that do not. White tea has long been used to aid in weight loss by breaking down fat cells. It can also help your metabolism. A white tea shot contains approximately 130 calories per shot.
Is the white tea shot expensive?
If you’re wondering how much the white tea shot costs, it’s possible that it’s a little pricey. These white tea shots at a bar will most likely cost around $10, though this will vary depending on the establishment.
What is the alcohol content of a white tea shot?
There are two shots of alcohol, and the sweet and sour mix I use contains some alcohol as well. The vodka contains 40%-50% (80 proof – 100 proof) alcohol, while the peach schnapps contains 15%. (30 proof).
Is there caffeine in the white tea shot?
Caffeine is not present in my version of the shot. However, if you use one of the tea recipes, it may contain caffeine.
How many calories are in a single shot of White Tea?
Each White Tea shot contains approximately 75 calories.
It’s not much, but because it’s unlikely you’ll only drink one shot, it all adds up quickly!
How effective is the White Tea shot, and how much alcohol is in it?
Much of it, of course, is determined by the strength of the two alcohols, vodka, and peach schnapps.
Assuming a 40% ABV (80-proof) vodka and an 18% ABV (36-proof) peach schnapps, the resulting White Tea shot will be around 19% to 20% ABV (38 to 40-proof).
While it is not the strongest shot, it is stronger than a glass of wine, so don’t be fooled by the sweetness because it can still pack a punch!
